nineteen months

Brigitta is now nineteen months old, where has the time gone?!  Wow!

Some of her latest and greatest activities or sayings

~ we taught her how to fist bump this weekend, you know like the 'Obama Bump'
~ she is very independent and wants to walk, run on her own, not be carried
~ she is constantly talking or babbling - whether to us, the cat, in her crib before she falls asleep or when she wakes up - she doesn't stop.  we love to just sit and listen, it's like she is having conversations with another person and you can hear her asking and answering questions and you can hear the inflection in her voice and different tones.
~ loves to sing and her favorite songs still include, 'Twinkle, Twinkle (she can sing the whole song), 'Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer true' (again knows the whole song), 'If your happy and you know it...', 'Baa, Baa Black Sheep', her ABC's and other silly songs we sing together.
~ she now loves to write and draw on anything and everything - including walls, books, people, windows, animals - you name it, she'll draw or color on it.
~ B LOVES being outside!  I mean loves it!  We can't mention the word unless we are going out, she will throw a major tantrum if we say the word and we don't go outside - lots of spelling going on at the Sutton house

She is no longer a baby, but becoming a very independent toddler!

First timeout

Last Friday, when I went to pick Brigitta up from daycare, I was told the words I knew would come some day.  'Brigitta had her first time out today.'  Little miss sassy pants has taken to hitting lately when she gets frustrated or doesn't get her own way - pretty awesome, I know!  Well, she hit another little girl and had to sit in time out and apparently just sat there - she knew what she had done.  And then went over and hugged the little girl as her way of apologizing.  Just melts your heart!

My daughter is quite stubborn and can be a little bruiser, so I'm sure this is the first of many timeouts in her future.

Sad ending

Below you will see my previous post about a local missing woman, Connie Koch.  Well, as we all predicted, Connie's car was found on Steven's Pass on Saturday.  Please keep Connie's children and soon to be granddaughter in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.  They definitely will need peace and healing to get through this.  Hopefully, though, Connie is in a safe, loving and warm place and can continue to see the impact she had on so many people through her work as a teacher, a mentor, a friend, a mother, daughter, sister and aunt.

We will miss you Connie!
