Lena and Lily

Our neighbor's have a cat, Lily, that likes to torment both Lena and Daisy.

As you see here, Lily and Lena are having a meeting of sorts. This is a daily occurence at our house. If you didn't know it, you would think Lily lived at our house. She is frequently on our doorstep looking like she is waiting to get inside.

Lily also hangs out in the backyard and Daisy is terrified of her. Thank goodness we got an amazing guard dog!

Twins turn 4

The twins turned 4 on December 17th, hard to believe they are 4 already. Where has the time gone? For their birthday, I made reindeer cupcakes. Here are a few pics from the fun night!

Organizing

When the house gets too quiet, we go on a search for a inquisitive little 2 1/2 year old. We often times find her reading, coloring or working on puzzles. Other times, though, we find her acting out her 'rain man' like abilities.

Here she is stacking the packages of saltines...

Lining up her cereal bars... (that's quality control in the background aka Lena)
And, put her containers of playdough into their color groups. Bring on preschool!

Fishing

Brigitta got her first fishing pole for her 2nd birthday. It is pink and lights up, what can be better than that? We were upstairs, she was downstairs and this is what we found...

Walking around in dad's shoes while 'fishing.'

Boat aka bathtub

This is how I found Brigitta the other morning. We both have been sick this week - she has a double ear infection and I'm fighting bronchitis. What a great way to spend spring break! Anyway, she got into her closet and pulled out her infant bathtub. She insisted it was her 'boat' and sat down to watch some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. God bless her.

reading

This is how I found Brigitta the other afternoon. She found a Sesame Street book, got on her tummy and started reading.

my helpers

A few weekends ago, we had beautiful weather, so I thought it would be a good time to start cleaning up the backyard. Below are my little helpers.

Our precious angel

Here are some shots of Brigitta from over Christmas break. Here she is 'playing' with Daisy through the slider.

In her hand is a bone from a puzzle she was putting together. She kept showing the bone to Daisy and of course, Daisy thought it was a real bone.
Wrapping herself up...genius level, really.

Sports Game

Scott's bro, Shaun, graciously gave us some games for the kids to use with t.v. Sort of like a Wii, but for the little kids. We set up this one on Christmas Day and I was helping Angelina play tennis.

Brigitta was getting in on the action too.

Gingerbread House

I know, I know, it's the beginning of April and I'm just now posting about Christmas. I downloaded over 200+ pics yesterday and realized I hadn't really blogged about xmas.

Here we are making our annual gingerbread house. It really involves me eating the candy while Scott builds the house with icing and the kids decorate.

The twins and the final project! This was the first year that Anthony helped out, other years he has been napping or not interested.

Before and After

So, over Christmas we put in a new kitchen sink. The 'we' was actually Scott and his brother Shaun who was here visiting over the holiday.

Before: we had a porcelain sink that was ridiculously stained and was original when the house was built in 1994. (we will be giving this sink away for free at our annual neighborhood garage sale in April)
After: we went with a deeper, stainless sink and a lovely new faucet. It took many hours to get the new sink in, but the boys did it!
