Birthday Breakfast
I celebrated my 31st birthday (ah!) while we were camping, so as a treat we all walked up to the Kalaloch Lodge and had a delicious breakfast.
Here is Brigitta enjoying her mountains of food. Please note - this was ordered off the children's menu.
The whole family went camping this year, this hasn't happened in like 20 years, I think we figured out. Nice pic! Here is Brigitta enjoying her mountains of food. Please note - this was ordered off the children's menu.

Our breakfast was delicious - the last time we ate at the lodge, I think I was turning 8 or 9 and we went up to also celebrate my birthday. Thank you to the wonderful folks also eating at the lodge that morning - I'm sure we were smelling lovely!
Kalaloch River
There is a fresh water river that flows into the ocean at Kalaloch Beach - the Kalaloch River. Growing up, we would always play at the river, because we could rinse the salt water off our bodies after jumping waves and it was more fun to explore without the icy cold waves crashing down on you.
A shot of the river - we were amazed at how different the river looked this year. Every year, we are excited to see how different the beach looks based off the storms from the winter. Will there be lots of driftwood, how will the curve of the river change, etc.? This year, there was hardly any driftwood for us to take for our campfires, the river's direction had definitely changed and at high tide - the water was definitely coming up on the beach higher and higher.

Beach Four - tidepool Walk
Every time we go camping, we always go to Beach 4 for a tidepool walk at one of the low tides. This year the low tide happened to be in the early afternoon rather than the early morning, so we made more of a trip out of it.
