Aquarium and Fish Hatchery

On Monday before we left AK, we visited the local aquarium and fish hatchery. Since the cruise ships and tourists hadn't arrived yet, we were the only ones there and that was a real treat. It allowed Brigitta to run free and we didn't have to worry as much.

Red Dog Saloon

After graduation we headed down to the Red Dog Saloon and had a few beers to celebrate! If you ever make it to Juneau, visiting the Red Dog is a must!

Happy Graduates!

Andrew and Tara - you did it! Welcome to the world of student loans and working 9-5!

Congratulations!

Andrew and Tara made crabs to put on their caps. This was great because we could easily spot them in the crowd.

Graduation

On Sunday of our trip we attended the graduation of Andrew and Tara.

The following pictures are at the beginning of the graduation, probably the first 5 minutes. That was the longest that Brigitta could sit. Doesn't she look happy in this picture?

Sandy Beach

After our hot day, we had dinner out on Douglas Island called the Island Pub. We enjoyed some delicious pizza and the new beer from the Alaskan Brewery Company...the Alaskan White. So yummy! If you can find it down here, make sure you buy a case!
After dinner, we headed over to Sandy Beach so Brigitta could play for a while.

Fishing

On Saturday of our trip, the gang wanted to go fishing. After visiting the research center we went to I believe, Eagle Beach.

Here are 'Bompa' and Brigitta checking it all out

Quite a beautiful sight! This was the day that it ended up being 75 degrees, a record!

Crab Lab

One day we went to the crab lab where Andrew and Tara were working and completing research on, you guessed it, crabs. This the building we visited and it had was a gorgeous facility with breathtaking views. Sarah Palin was there earlier in the week to dedicate the new facility, shame we missed her!

Alaska Trip

We went to Alaska the first weekend in May to see my younger brother, Andrew, graduated from college. We had a great weekend with Andrew, his girlfriend Tara and my parents. It was a godsend to have them along on B's first plane ride and first major vacation. She did great on the flight up there and was a real trooper the whole time. We were very busy following my brother's 'itinerary' and she did outstanding.
