Our wonderful friends Julie and Rich hosted a shower for baby Brigitta. We were so happy to have so many great friends in town for this special event and to support the Lutes!

Anthony and Grandpa
Anthony wouldn't settle down for a nap on Saturday, so Grandpa sat down with him in the chair and they both fell asleep instantly!

Spawning Salmon
Near Mendenhall Glacier is a stream for spawning salmon. I'm sorry the pictures didn't turn out great, but you can see how large these salmon were, it was pretty awesome to see!
Mendenhall Glacier
Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, notice the blue color on the glacier? That is the way the light from the sky reflects down on the glacier.
More of downtown Juneau
Juneau-Douglas City Museum, this gave highlights and information about the history of Juneau
A shot down the street, pretty amazing to look at the difference in height between the cruise ship and office building

Humpback Whales
Here is a group of whales "bubble net" feeding. They all go underwater and blow bubbles to scare and trap the herring. This forces the herring to the surface and all at once the whales come to the water surface with their mouths open to eat. Pretty awesome to see up close!

Cruise Ships
Each day in Juneau during the busy tourist season about 3-4 ships come in, dock and let the tourists shop or or go on other tours for about 8 hours and then off to the next destination. These modern day cruise ships are as big as the Titanic! Pretty awesome to walk down the street and have these towering above you.

Cruise Ship coming up the Gastineau Channel in Juneau, Alaska
This past week, my parents and I have been up in Juneau visiting my brother Andrew. We were over on Douglas Island when I saw this cruise ship coming up the channel to dock in Juneau. There is one cruise ship up close!
Lena and the baby crib
Lena has taken over Brigitta's crib until her arrival in a few weeks. As you can see in the middle picture, she was pretty much passed out, she could care less that we come in and out of that room to check on her. She is going to be in for a rude awakening when the baby arrives and she will lose her nap spot.

Nursery After...
And...here is the nursery after we painted! The color is a minty green, very light pistachio with a white ceiling. We still have to put back up the baseboard moldings and get the furniture in, once we do that, I will post more pictures.
