I had a request from lovely Kay-See to put pics of Lena up on the blog. Here are a few that we have saved over the few months that we've had her. Isn't she just adorable?!!?!?!
Our very dear friends, Leah and Gabe, got engaged on New Year's Eve!! Hooray!! Here they are at our wedding after catching the bouquet and garter! We love you guys!!!
Happy New Year to everyone!! It is so hard to believe it is 2007 already, where did 2006 go? We had a wonderful 2006, with many blessings including buying our first home, getting our first adorable pet Lena and getting married this past July. I'm sure you all remember the heat, it was 93 in the church and it is on record as the hottest day of the summer. But, we thank all of you for sticking it out with minimal complaints!!
We are not really going to be making any resolutions this year, just the standard:
1. Get healthier 2. Exercise more 3. Pay off bills
As many of you know, Scott is preparing to take the next portion of his testing for a new position within his company. This Thursday comes the physical test, he is competing against only about 5 other people for 1 position, so fingers crossed everything goes well. As for me, I've decided to apply for a teaching position for the Washington Virtual Academy. (You can check it out for yourself at www.wava.org) I see it is a wonderful opportunity for me to still continue as a teacher and working with kids while being able to be home when we do plan to start our own little family.
So, here's hoping that 2007 brings you wealth, health and happiness!!
This past Sunday was Anthony and Angelina's 1st birthday!!! They enjoyed a spaghetti dinner packed full of veggies followed by chocolate cupcakes without frosting! Anthony dove right in and Angelina eventually did. They are quite adorable! Can't wait for Christmas!
As many of you know, we had a very powerful wind storm here last week. People are saying it is in the worst in decades and many are still without power around here. My parents lost the tree in their front yard, thankfully it didn't hit the house or any vehicles!
Here is Scott's final product. His wreath was the envy of the teacher's, she wanted to keep it to share with everyone. I chose to taste the wine rather than make a wreath.
Scott and Hilary making their wreathes Rich and Julie working together to make a beautiful wreath! What a team! The Lester Family Another shot of our lovely Christmas tree!!
Kristin and Angelina out tree hunting, her first time in the backpack, she had a great time! Our first tree in our first house!! Sorry the pic is a little blurry, but you get the idea.
Our house at night, isn't it beautiful?? Basketball anyone??? Our deck with about 5-6 inches of snow Our backyard, in the right corner is our gravel pit, covered in snow.
After a grueling road trip to and from Montana for Thanksgiving, we came home to over 6 inches of snow that fell yesterday! Wow!! At the top is the snow starting to fall and as it progressed throughout the day. Quite beautiful!
The Snohomish River at just about flood stage, we set a new record of 33.6 feet! (During the flood) The same spot as above, notice the difference! Cleaning up debris left from the flood, they are clearing trees and mud from the roadway, farms and soccer fields. Still a little water left over. Notice the rain spots on the windshield, it never seems to stop!
