Visitors
Sarena and Anika stopped by today to visit our little Brigitta. It was great for her to meet one of her Castle Aunties and Anika, as always, was so much fun!
Nap Time
Brigitta and Daddy enjoying their favorite activity together...napping! Having Scott home this week has been a tremondous help and he gets some more quality bonding time with his daughter.

Home
After Brigitta's first feeding at home in her own room!
Taking a nap in her crib. Thanks for the great blanket, Lisa!
Lena checking everything out from the hospital, she is still unsure of this "creature" we brought home with us. She is staying away for the most part right now.

Here are some shots out the hospital windows to show the morning of B's arrival, very foggy and overcast. As the day continued, the sun came out and the bottom shot is of the USS Abraham Lincoln stationed in Everett.

Brigitta and mommy after I got stitched up and cleaned up. Isn't she cute???
Brigitta with mommy, grandma and grandpa. Don't mind my face, I pushed pretty hard and looked like I had been in a heavyweight boxing fight with broken capillaries under my eyes and all swollen!
Getting footprints and antibiotic drops in her little blue eyes
In her our personal warming bed after her first bath

Brigitta Ruth Sutton
Here is our little bundle of joy! She was 7 lbs. 13 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. She has strawberry-blonde hair, blue eyes and possibly curly hair. We love her so much and are so glad that she arrived with no problems and is absolutely beautiful.
Getting ready for Brigitta...
Here I am, so excited to finally start the induction process about noon on Wednesday, September 12th
The computer monitor we all watched to track B's heart rate and my contractions. In the blue you will notice her heart rate and the mountains and valleys on the bottom are my contractions. Because of being one week plus one day overdue, I was started on pitocin to get everything kick started and by 3 o'clock it did. I was having solid contractions with no breaks for about 30 minutes at a time...not pleasant!
The mobile heated crib in our room for Brigitta.
Later in the day on Wednesday still waiting for labor to really start! I was at 3 cm for approximately 10 hours before I finally got an epidural at about 10:45 that evening and my doctor broke my water at 11. That's when everything finally got started!! I quickly progressed and by 4 in the morning, I was fully dilated and ready to go. At 5:20, we started pushing and Brigitta arrived with no problems at 5:47 in the morning.

Weekly Update
Okay, for those of you that don't know I am now 4 days overdue with some end in sight. I am schedule to be induced on Wednesday, September 12th. I go in for a NST (non-stress test) and AFI (look at the amniotic fluid levels) on Tuesday, the 11th. I feel great right now and hope that she comes naturally before I have to be induced, but I have no control over Brigitta at this point. We call in very early on the 12th to find out when they want us at the hospital, I get moved to the top of the list, being 41 weeks and 1 day at that point, but it is all based on their workload.
Make sure to check back to this blog periodically because this is the best way for us to post pictures and keep everyone updated!!
And, tomorrow is the Seahawks season opener so hopefully she won't decide to make her entrance during the game!! Momma's gotta watch some Hawk Ball!

Make Education a Priority in '08
40 weeks
Here is a little self-portrait I took this morning to record my glorious belly at a full 40 weeks. She has dropped considerably in the past month and is getting all positioned and ready to make her entrance and finally join our family.
40 weeks and counting....
We have officially hit the 40 week pregnancy mark and...NOTHING! We are all "patiently" waiting for Brigitta to make her entrance into the world. She is being quite stubborn like her mother and is waiting for the perfect moment.
Make sure to check back to our blog quite frequently because this will be the best avenue for us to post pictures for all family and friends around the world!
